For Friday: Comprehension Exam #1 (slight change)

NOTE: I'm flipping the schedule for this Friday and next Monday, which will affect the next three weeks of class:

21        MLK
23        Kipling, “The Mark of the Beast and Jacobs, “The Monkey’s Paw” (b)
25        Comprehension Exam #1

28        James, "O, Whistle and I'll Come to You, My Lad" (c)
30        Lovecraft, “The Colour Out of Space” (a)

FEBRUARY
1          Comprehension Exam #2
4          Stoker, “Dracula’s Guest” and Kyoka, “A Tale of Three Who Were Blind” (b)

6          Saki, “Srendni Vashtar” and Jackson, “The Lottery” (c)

8          Comprehension Exam #3

So for Friday's class, we'll have a short in-class response to the stories we've read so far, which will be your first "comprehension exam" (see syllabus for details). But don't worry--I'm not adding anything, just moving things around to break up the workload for you. See you on Friday!
